What exactly is Buddhist nationalism, what are its gender dimensions and how does it impact on minority/cultural discrimination? The Oxford University "Understanding Buddhist Nationalism" research project aims to answer this and more, and in this episode we speak with its two chief researchers: Dr Matthew Walton, Aung San Suu Kyi Senior Research Fellow in Modern Burmese Studies at St Antony’s College, and Dr Ma Khin Mar Mar Kyi, Aung San Suu Kyi Gender Research Fellow and Research Associate in Anthropology at the University of Oxford.
